CRACK REPAIR SERVICES

Reynolds-French and its services have grown dramatically in the past 60 years. The hallmark of Reynolds-French was from the beginning, and still is, the success enjoyed by repairing cracked or broken castings.

It is the years of experience on over 25,000 castings such as shown that have formed the combination of knowledge and workmanship that hundreds of users have come to rely on.

CRACK PATCHING

Time tested, proven and perfected procedures are commonly known as "crack patching" — a term that Reynolds-French has become synonymous with. Pre-formed inlayed devices of either steel or other high tensile alloys called "locks" are set perpendicularly to the crack. These locks vary in type and size according to the strength required, the availability of the parent material, and type of casting.

LONG-LASTING REPAIRS ON SHORT NOTICE

Knowing the PROPER STRATEGIC PLACEMENT of these locks, and PROPER WORKMANSHIP in setting them – are what set Reynolds-French apart.

After the locks are properly set, overlapping threaded dowels are inserted along the crack. This lacing fills the crack, loads the locks, allows for proper heat transfer and seals the crack from leakage of gas, steam, or liquid.
